I really don’t blame you for the way you think because e/o believes anything in the News. But us Frum Jews have a Torah and this what we believe in, nothing more. The Chofetz Chaim wrote Halchos on L.H. in his Sefer. In there he says clearly just because you read something in a newspaper (nowadays it would be any media), all the Dinim of L.H. apply. This would include not believing it!
Now for an author to come to a comment of “Good Riddance”, he/she would have to believe what was said about the guy!

You know how it says seyag lechochma shtika? I could sum up all your complaints in six simple words “how do you know it’s true?”.
And to that I respond that I live in Israel and I see whats going on. My head isn’t buried in the sand. Neither is YWN. As a news org that has correspondents in the area they are acutely aware of the situation over there. You don’t need the media to matir us to talk about this filth. Everyone in the area knows exactly whats going on.
Also, the fact that he got convicted shows that he was testified against (or ample evidence against him, your choice). Most definitely by the JEWS that were tortured by him.
