In my opinion, most of the cleaning that goes on before pesach has nothing to do with halacha. It is just about wanting to clean up.
So,
A. Maybe decide whether this is the best time to be doing this.
B. Give your husband a break if he is not as interested in cleaning. (While of course he should help you clean for any reason, you should be upfront about your motives.)
