My brother was in Israel once during this period, and was leaving during it.

He had already caught up, since the yeshiva he was in caught up the first week in their chutz minyan.

So, the last week he was there, he did this:

He went to a 900 minyan and davened shachris.

Then, he went upstairs to the 800 minyan after shmone esrei.

And he heard leining the next week.
