If I am reading a thread that is off the main CR page (meaning an old thread) and I want people to see it and/or get the discussion going again, I will write Bump (or Bump™ to be cool) so that the thread will “bump” to the home page.
When someone says, “can someone bump this thread?” they are Bump™ing the thread in a funny way!
Simple as that!
