I’ve actually had cases where somebody called me while I was learning and left a message saying “call me its urgent” and also sent me a text with the same message. After a few missed calls I checked the text and decided to go out of the beis medrash to call him, but first I took an extra minute to check his voicemail which didn’t give any helpful info and was just a waste of time. When I actually called back he had a simple question that could have been asked and answered in a text (whether the question was urgent is another matter). He could have saved both of us a lot of time and grief by simply putting his question in the text (especially considering that he sent me a text anyway). But people like this just don’t know how to communicate by text and have this need to speak out their question and hear my answer on a phone call.
