Succos comes to mind with the Ohel issue, especially if the area under the hat is big enough for a Succah!!!
We are not talking about 7 by 7 tefachim, but 4 by 4 amos according to Rabbi Yehudah of the Mishnah.
Some hats have rims wide enough that aircraft can land on them!!!
