For example, I know someone who had a minor mental disability and got engaged to a boy from a troubled home. A few days before the wedding the boy called it off because they suddenly realized what they’re getting themselves into even though they knew about it the whole time. It was very hurtful to the girl’s family and a big disappointment to everyone.
