Why are so many gedolim and yidden willing to pay $30 a pound for hand-made, instead of $5 a pound for machine-made?
First of all, many are of the opinion that the kashrus is indeed better. Second, it’s not so pashut that machine matzos are baked “l’shem matzas mitzvah” (IOW that turning on the machine is considered the act of baking).
