Also as I am sure you are aware this opposite gender thing has been happening since the beginning of time so I think if anything it is the rabbonim/menahalim that are trying to change the culture that accepts this – which is precisely the opposite of the example you brought of alternative marriage (in many ways ironically). According to your logic it is always right to make a stand on everything.
