You will need to first get a credit card that does not give points as those are easier to get approved and that way you will build credit. I think it hat store credit cards are most likely to approve eg Macy’s banana republic kohls etc. Also try discover or capitalone student if you’re a student. In general amex is hard to get approved and you’d be better off starting with any capital one / discover / chase (freedom, slate). Also good info on credit cards at dans deals website.
