I was not actually comparing Chassidus to Christianity, though people such as rebdoniel and Chaim Potok might, but rather saying that the assertion is based on what we wish to believe rather than what we have been taught as Truth.
As far as your point about tolerating sinners, well that’s just it. We are told Hashem tolerates, not loves. Kel erech apayim, and a hundred other well-known quotes, spell this out.
