Reply To: Are sons more desirable than daughters?

Having a HEALTHY child of either gender is the greatest bracha we could hope for. I feel so sad for the rabbi who was so sad that he needed to be “consoled” on the birth of a daughter, as well as for the rov who felt the need to console him. There are people who would do ANYTHING in the world for the privilege of having any child, much less a beautiful, healthy daughter.
