About the Nesiim, if you look in Medrash Rabba you can see completely different intentions for each Nasi. The only thing is, as for the point you are trying to bring out, they weren’t told to bring that Korban. They were all Mechaven to the same result. That is why the Torah sums it all up at the end, to show that they all come to one point.
