This organization and others are making themselves out to be THE ONLY worthy tzedaka organization. The ma=essage they are sending is that, true you can donate to other organizations, but do they promise you miracles like we do? Can they guarantee that on erev yom kippur Rav Chaim Kanievsky will personally daven for you and the 10,000 other people whose names we give him.
It does not stop with Kupat Ha’ir and this is unfortunately spreading. Before Rosh Hashana I got a letter from some kind of organization in Lakewood telling me that if I donate to them R’ Matisyahu Solomon is going to personally daven for me. I am all for going to get a bracha from a true gadol or talmud chacham, but this takes it to a whole nother level.
