13th Avenue, between 36th and 60th Streets, has been renamed Raoul Wallenberg Way. Wow! The most famous Jewish street in chutz has a new name. Will anyone ever get used to stop calling it 13th Avenue and forever henceforth always refer to the street as Raoul Wallenberg Way?

    Probably will never happen.

It took about 2 – 3 years for people to switch from saying the “Interboro” to the “Jackie”(Robinson).

I think this name (and not to disrespect him) is too long for that change to happen.

AOM: People will call it “Wallenberg’s”, for short.

I live on Wallenberg’s. Did you shop for all the metzia’s on Wallenberg’s? The store’s address is 5156 Wallenberg.

NOBODY I know, for example, calls the Triboro the RFK Bridge. Don’t get offended if you do— chances are I just don’t know you.

But there’s also a Raoul Wallenberg Way across from the Holocaust Museum in Washington. So Brooklyn’s waaaaaay late.

Is the Swedish Ambassador going to be invited to Borough Park to come & attend the official naming ceremony?
