My friend is turning 20 and she’s the first in our group to leave her teenage years! Anyone have any ideas how we should celebrate besides going out to eat? We do that every year and it’s getting kinda boring. What could we do that’s tonz of fun and a lil age appropriate?
bowling, indoor mini golf, arcade type stuff, etc.
Or maybe as a group you can go volunteer for Tomchei Shabbos or some other organization.

Hey sounds like my situation – I’m turning 20 very soon (the first of my friends) 🙂 I would suggest an arcade place and/or bowling. Those places can be a lot of fun with a few friends…
go to manhattan & have a girls day out with shopping!!!!!!!!!!!!
How about make a party in someones house and prepare a slideshow (powerpoint) of all your friends and the years in high school growing up…It may take time, but if u put nice music in the background it can come out really nice!
Bowling takes too short, and mini golf is boring! I think at the end FOOD always wins and a good program to go along with it.
Why not take a ride out to a nice park and go hiking! You can bring a portable BBQ or build a fire on site. Its like camping, without the sleepover.

If your friends and you are musically inclined, maybe you could write her a musical spoof/roast/skit, with lyrics set to familiar tunes and then perform it at one of your homes. My siblings and I did that for my late parents’ special birthdays one Purim, and my parents were beyond overwhelmed. You write about various aspects of her life. I am sure there are some very funny moments that would be appropriate, and the last song could be a serious one on how much her friendship means to all of you. Just a thought.

You’re very welcome. It really was!!!! My parents were falling off their seats laughing, and they were so touched that we made this type of an effort.
how about suggestions for a 20th anniversary – the mrs. and I are celebrating 20 years on the 1st day of Chanukah.
myshadow, its a lot of fun in the winter too! But if you are city girls…how about ice skating? I like to go in central park or Rockefeller Center. Afterwards, you can go out to Cafe K or whatever is near where you are going and get nice hot chocolates to warm you up!

Hey all i got for my 20th bday was a kick in the pants by my chavrusa for there being to much batala due to my bday. But that shouldnt stop you (you dont have a chavrusa lol) go out with alot of freinds and have fun!
My daughter did this for my birthday (and it works for an anniversary, too). She had a calendar made up, with each page being another aspect of our family life through the years. It was a real keeper, and I loved the thought.
oomis1105, I think that is very special but the only problem with a calendar is that after a yr. it basically becomes a paper photo album…Once ur working on a through the yrs. thing maybe a scrap book would last better…
In my younger years when my parents had their 25th anniversary I dug up old photos AND VIDEOS and made a stunning video with Pinnacle Studio.
Would highly recommend for any video you want to make. My parents couldn’t have been happier. I put many hours into it and sometimes play it back to myself just enjoying seeing my parents and siblings growing up…
