Very often people delve into Sugyos that they relate to personally. Historically motivated people will enjoy learning ancient Teshuvos, those who like mathematics will know about all the measurements and their relationships. People who enjoy Halacha in general learn that, while some who enjoy the mystical and magical can tell you about every Teshuva that discusses Kishuf how much is Muttar and which Segulos are Baduk Umenusa.

What is it though, that motivates some people to dance around the limits of Apikursus, and what the absolute limit is that you can still be counted for a Minyan Le’eis Hatzorech?

Anyone who counter-demonstrated at the Israel Day Parade, cannot even be counted towards a Minyan even Le’eis Hatzorech.

I think it has to do with gaiva.

147: Really? What Ikkar did they violate? Even assuming that doing so what distasteful and was being Poresh Midarchei Hatzibbor, why would that Passul you for a Minyan?

Sam2: If someone has met with Arafat and his successors, having identified himself with such a Sonei Yisroel, has rendered him a traitor to our beloved Jewish people, and “Yotzo MiKellal Amiseicho”.

There were 9 people at the “protest” they were about 15 policemen protecting them.

I am such an Apikurus that I don’t understand half the words used in this thread..

147 – You take your own biases and declare that to be the halacha.

You should rather opine that the NK can’t be part of a minyan accrding to 147. By making these ridiculous statements you really do yourself a disservice because rational people will ignore you.

Say that in you opinion NK is misguided or mistaken. But we could really do without the hyperbole, especially in ragard to halacha.

And isn’t a megala panim baTorah shelo k’halacha tantamount to an apikores?

147: Protesting an Israel Day Parade does not shaking hands with Arafat make. (I am probably more pro-Israel than most and I have serious issues with the Parade. I ignore it, but if I was forced to do one I’d probably be more likely to protest than to march.)

Hashomer Hatzair marches every year and they make a point of emphaszing their support for “religious equality”

    Why hasnt that been protested

When learning machshava, it’s necessary to understand the context and influences on them.

For example: Soren Kierkegaard and Rudolf Otto have influenced Ish haHalakha.

    Aristotle influences Rambam.

Plotinus and the Neoplatonists influences Kabbalah (such as Yitzhak Sagi Nahor and others).

This hardly makes someone an apikores.

I think you are taking 147 way too serious. I can’t even tell if he is a zionist or not.

(I want to be clear. I would be protesting certain aspects of the parade, not Israel. The parade does very good things for Israel and Jews worldwide, but there are aspects of it that we should point out are bad.

RD, and Hashkafa influences Halacha. Scary thought.

Where did you find the Ri Sagi Nahar’s Sefarim?

Some of what you mentioned is self admitted but not all. I’m not sure we have the right to make such assumptions.

By the way, what was your point?
