So I had a meeting in downtown Chicago this morning, and then another one this evening. I had a few hours to kill, so I wandered into a Westin to get some quiet.
I went into the lower level, and actually lay down on the floor in a side hallway like some homeless guy. Except I was wearing a suit and carrying a computer.
Then, I found a couch and actually fell asleep.
People passed by and nobody commented or asked me if I belonged here. Amazing.
Now, I’m sitting in the lobby using wifi and drinking seltzer from the bar.
So, nap, seltzer, and wifi. All for $3August 31, 2011 9:37 pm at 9:37 pm #804823
What is the $3 fee for?August 31, 2011 9:38 pm at 9:38 pm #804824

And if you were wearing the levush, you could have gone to the Rebbe’s tish. An important lesson learned you have , young padawan. Appearances count. If youlook like you belong, you do belong.September 1, 2011 1:48 pm at 1:48 pm #804834be goodParticipant
Looking like you belong is one thing- add a couple of ounces of confidence and they start treating you like a king…

This past Monday, the internet was down in my house. I spent the day in Starbucks, drinking coffee (first cup 1.63 small 2.12 medium reefills 50 cents). For under 5 bucks, I had internet all day plus coffee.

Well Eman, you’re lucky that the Starbucks gave you an outlet to plug in your laptop. Many no longer do.September 1, 2011 3:23 pm at 3:23 pm #804837
eman: You get free refills if you have a registered Starbucks card. Then you buy a small and it is free all day.
However, the Westin River North is far nicer than most Starbucks.September 1, 2011 6:45 pm at 6:45 pm #804838am yisrael chaiParticipant

I am just finding out how many really cool places there are to hang out, when dragged to a mall, or shipping in the city.
My latest favorite? Hollister on 5th ave. 50ft screen showing Long Beach, CA. And those arm chairs? A real vacation!

But this reminds me of the time we took our campers on a scavenger hunt, and then while they were hunting, we found a microbrewery in the area and went in for some drinks.

M? As in Ma? Mommy? Mother?
Why preclude BPI (as in Ima?) or BPO (as in Oma).
Just kidding. She Ma to our kids. Her screen name is not BP related.
And, no, she is not a CR addict. She spends he on-line time on a ladies site. (evident from the 1500+ recipes I see floating around the kitchen)
