    Coming down with a bad one. Headache, joints, throat etc. No. Sleeping is not an option. (have to wait until Shabbos for that)

    Don’t you think they should be selling “virus/flu survival kits” in the stores: tissues, Tylenol, chicken soup, get well card.

    Same here, since yesterday evening suddenly throat pain.

    My recommendations:

    * Sleep. Relax.

    * Drink a lot. Doesn’t matter what – personally I mainly drink juices and tea.

    * Eat well.

    * Don’t talk too much.

    * Stay warm.

    I’ve used theraflu. It was decent. Its a hot beverage that has all the stuff to help you feel at least a little bit better.

    Oh, here I thought you were posting something about how I could maybe get rid of the virus my computer has. LOL! Guess not.

    Anyway, my mother always stressed fluids, chicken soup is terrific.

    Refuah shelaima – – try ColdEeze (zinc Glyconate). Suck on a lozenge every few hours, and it REALLY, really works. It shortens the duration of a viral illness by several days. Taking zinc supplements does not work the same way as this product does. Don’t know why, just is that way.

    Hi Health.

    Cold Eeze definitely helps shorten the duration of a cold, especially if you start taking them right

    at the beginning of when one thinks they are getting a cold.

    Also, during one cold I happened to get a bunch of organic oranges. They had an amazing drying

    effect and helped stopped the cold from developing into a huge, red-nosed, tons of tissues all over, kind of event.

    Everyone should stay healthy this year with being well rested, well fed, and washing hands often, as well as walking away when someone gives a big juicy sneeze whether they cover up or not. lol

    Thanks ALL for your responses and kind words. I’m just scared, wary of medicines etc., other than vitamins.

    refuah shelaimah!

    make sure you stay worm

    drink alot of liquids (cold and hot!)

    sleep the best you can if it means getting some extra help in the house,taking days off of work/school it is essential to sleep at least a normal amount off sleep each day to build your immune system so it can fight the sickness

    also even if not sleeping take it easy because stress makes it worse!

    hope this helps!!!! 🙂

    COLDEEZE is not a medicine. It is a highly absorbable form of zinc that boosts the immune system. It has been demonstrated to cut a typical 7 day cold to 3 days when taken AT THE FIRST SIGN OF A COLD. When your throat first starts to feel scratchy (not after your nose is dripping and red), you start taking the lozenges every few hours (yes, zicam is also a good anti-viral, but I prefer CE). It really works.

    I had to have surgery two years ago and a few days before the scheduled procedure I started to sneeze and get a sore throat. I knew they would never do the surgery if I got sick, and I had already been dreading it and didn’t want to put it off if I didn’t have to. In desperation I started to take the ColdEeze. In two days I was totally better, and two days after that (I first told my doc about the aborted cold), I had my surgery with no problem. B”H

    When i had a cold i probably drank a few gallons of water and used a few boxes of tissues each day. but when i went back to work, it suddenly disappeared!!

    ZK, be careful not to overdose on the Tylenol – it can cause liver damage. Glad you feel better.

    Switch off between that and Motrin. By the way, do you swallow the tissue whole or can you have it with apple sauce?

    HaLeiVi: Apple sauce? I wrote it’s a kit. I grind the chicken soup with the other ingredients, (tissues, card, asparina..)

    I thought CA’s line about “a virus” was your type of line…

    Happy to hear you’re feeling better.
