Hi everyone,
I find my self in a posistion that some of you may be familiar with, I left Kollel a year ago because it was time to support my family. I got a great opportunity to join a free (unpaid)internship program toward a very rewarding career.
The only prerequisit is; to have (any) Bachlors degree. I have now completed this long internship program with hopes of landing a well paying job, however as it turns out I can not get my BTL (Bachlors in Talmudic law from amy accredited Yeshiva College). I do have more the reqiured amount of credits to earn one, but I can’t find an accredited College or Yeshiva willing to take all my yeshiva credits.
If any one know of any type of Mossad that would be able to help me out with this difficult situation that I now find myself in, it would be greatly appreciated.

What about the yeshiva you were in before kollel? Were they affiliated with AARTS?
I don’t know where you went to Yeshiva and how it works, but you can try Thomas Edison College. I know plenty of girls who have gotten a TON of credits through them from seminary (but Michlalah for example is an Israeli College so I don’t know if that was why).
are you trying to get a BA without taking any more classes? hmmm… touro makes you do your major in touro and i dont think there is a judaic studies major for men…
Um, squeak, i think frum 33 is a guy. He said he went to kollel- I dont think raizel wright (however you spell it) will accept him.
If you’ve been in Kollel for enough time and and you have enough credits, doesn’t the Yeshiva you studied in give the degree? Also, I agree with Curious. Go to Thomas Edison State College (they’re a NJ college but you can get a degree through them whatever state you’re in, assuming you’re in the US). You will need a transcript from the Yeshiva you studied in and if you have enough credits you can get your degree. Good luck.

You can always take CLEP tests or some online classes to help you complete the requirements.
Why? Is Raizel Wright (however you spell it) only for women? I don’t see why it should be since there are no classes. AFAIK, it’s just a program that has everything sorted out so that you can get a degree fast with “yeshiva credits”, CLEPs and the like.
I dont know, i thought there were some classes involved but I can be wrong…
raizel reit has a bacholor’s program which does not have classes but there is a master’s program that is classes. However, I do think they have some programs for men. Call their main hotline. (It’s under TTI- testing and training international in a phone book or advertized in some publications) I was able to get some credits from seminary with them, it was through excelsior college. It costs $$$ of course as does all these things. Also you have to write essays on the classes that you took. It’s also not a full bachelors but it’s a nice amount of credits. You can also take JSE’s Jewish subject exams in a LOT of subjects such as all five chumashim, 3 levels of dikduk, ivrit, yiddish to name a few. They are really easy for someone who is very familiar with all these subjects.
Intelegent, I think that TTI has a full program. Excelsior reqcuires that composition must be taken through them, you could CLEP the other core recquirements, and then you could take the Jewish Subject Exams for the rest.
Frum33, if your Yeshiva is accreditted by AARTS, Excelsior will accept your credits. Even if they don’t, there are a large amount of JSE’s that you should be familiar with.
By the way- if you ended up in BMG, they are accredited by AARTS.
I dont have any solutions for you… rather some words of encouragement.
My husband was in the same situation as you find yourself, and he ended getting his Bachelors through a Yeshiva he attended years earlier. It was difficult getting through to them and it took lots of effort and waiting time. In the end, it worked out! But its all min hashamayim and you seem like one who will end up succeeding and getting the good you deserve! I know the right solution will come along. Trust me on this one.

3 years after posting your question about Yeshiva/College credits on this thread; did you get anywhere? I’m finding myself in a similar position and I’d like to hear from you where and how you ended up, I hope you’ll get to read this reply.
