It may be easier to say what you are looking for and I can tell you if it seems like a match.

If you don’t wear a hat you have to daven in the ezras nashim.

That’s somewhat liberal. Rav Chaim says if you don’t have your hat on its better to daven byechidus at home with the hat rather than at shul without the hat.

Went to bais years ago. Can’t vouch for what it’s like now.
But it is originally a break off from To Mo . At the time it was similar to mercaz. Officially a black hat yeshiva with a very diverse group.
My friends from bais all ended up in ner Yisroel .
The rosh (rabbi lehrfeld) is a Talmud of Rav chaim Zimmerman. Hashkafah is yeshivish. The original mashgiach was a Talmud of Rav wolbe.

I’m looking to go to a yeshiva where guys are ‘frum but normal’, meaning guys who are easy going and fun to be around but can also sit down and learn shtark when it’s time to do so. Warm environment and rebbeim are also important to me.

Note: I know that some people have opinions on yeshivas based on how they were years ago. Being that yeshivas can change drastically over the course of a few years, I’m really only looking for opinions of people that have knowledge on how the yeshiva currently is. Thanks!

So yeshivas ohr yerushalayim (oj) could be an amazing fit. It used to have a terrible reputation for drugs but now its mamish cleaned up, new roshei yeshivas, different guys, and its a very lax place with incredible learning. Theyre very very strict on drugs but the guys the learning and ghe rebneim are all amazing. If u want u can contact me abt the yeshiva for more info. The rebbeim are mostly chareidi and you get lots of personal attention from them, theres no official hashkafa as people come from various backgrounds.

Bkitzur, amazing atmosphere for growth (bc were on a mountaintop outside of yerushalayim), amazing learning, and the ability to chill out and have a good time if need be.

Is rabbi sosevsky not the rosh yeshiva?

P.s. the hashkafa is officially charedi, at least when I was there a fee years ago.

Drug problem? B.s. they have been saying that for years, there was always only a handful of guys like that, just like any other large yeshiva.

    Although OJ is small now

Its completely different now. (Also big difference between tbe rabbeim saying it and the talmidim saying it)
