watching how the small kids at a bavrafen today have to push and fight the bullies i decided that it isn’t right that they should go home with out any nosh (or at least a fancy bag).

the 12 year old bullies must be stopped.

or at least give the small boys a bag of nosh each at beginning of leining,.

Please forgive the ignorance, but I don’t believe I’ve ever come across this term before. Please define.

I don’t know, the small kids go between the legs of the men and the 12 year olds. They seem to manage to collect quite a bit.

Wolf – a bavarfen is basically the Yiddish word for throwing – i.e. what happens at an aufruf when candies or pekelech are thrown at the choson.

    A bavrafen is an aufruf.

In my shul the small kids make a line in the hall and everyone gets a peckel.

It’s not only small kids at an aufruf, that’s life. The aggressive(bullies)ones always grab.
