How does one go about becoming a Rov, Rebbe or Chacham? Once he gets his smicha, is at as simple as finding a nice place and opening up a Beis Medrash, hanging up his shingle, and starting to answer shailos in psak halacha?
And what difference, if any, is there between becoming a Rov, Rebbe or a Chacham? Does it simply depend on whether you are Litvish, Chasidish or Sefardish? Or is becoming a Rebbe or Chacham more difficult than becoming a Rov? (Perhaps it has to be in your blood.)
Merely carrying a title of rabbi these days, isn’t saying much.
