hie-tell me ur not for real? so ur the one in the house the fries the shnitzel and peals the apples and bakes the cakes and seperates dozens and dozens and dozens of eggs and makes all the deserts and peals vegtables for kugels/soups/salads. u must b a very busy boy.

and for cleaing-ur probably the one in the house that also starts a month before pesach when you vacuum every room in the house and scrub down ever cabinet and cupboard and go through every room decluttering whatever is in your path. ur probably the one in the house thats gets down on his hands and knees and lines every shelf fridge and freezer. also u go through all the food in the fridge and freezer that n/o touched in like 6 months that just to make its way all the way to the back of the fridge and throw it out.

    i would totally want u as a brother 😀

but seriously, what seminary did u go to that they taught u to cook so much?

hie- that may be true in your home but definitely not in may others! a girl is a mamas kind and shes the one that learns all the tradeds in the household.

“Boys do more in every possible way besides the kitchen! period”

    – umm…what would you do without food?!

Girls do and direct everything and often the boys are asked to help out in the physically harder things.

    just admit it.

whats there to do for pesach besides cook and clean??. hie-girls win this convo 🙂 we’re just cool like that.

2facer: you have it totally wrong. The BOYS do or direct everything, Girls do a little help and that is in the kitchen.

Bein Hazmanim definitely is important, not because the guys are needed to help around the house, but because yeshiva bochurim need a break every once in a while and by the time pesach comes they are often burnt out from the long winter zman. In the week or two before pesach, there is plenty for the yeshiva boys to do, whether it is shopping for themselves, or helping shop for or clean their house, or even get a job if they need money.

However the idea of in-town yeshivos not starting the new zman until rosh chodesh Iyar is ridiculous. And yes lakewood is in-town. There is no reason that the yeshivos dont start 2 or 3 days after pesach. They had their time to chill out and now its time to go back and continue shteiging.
