Which is the best K4P instant coffee? I find nescafe to be too bitter.

I like the Israeli brand Elite a lot. But I haven’t tried other brands…

    Taster’s Choice. By far.

There are two types of specially marked K4P TC (or at least there have been in the past – I haven’t done most of the Pesach shopping yet). One is the regular plastic jar with a Gefen sticker (Volover Rav’s hechsher) as an extra seal over the container (the kind zdad would have a fit about).

The other is the old fashioned glass jar with Rav Charlop’s hechsher. It’s manufactured somewhere in the Americas.

The regular TC is on approved lists as well, even without special Passover certification.

Decaf always needs special Passover certification.

I don’t know if French Roast is included in the approval; from the way the list is worded, it seems not (but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was).

DY – I’m thinkng the FR might be good, but now I don’t remember. TC is what we use every Pesach but we soak all the granules in bleach and rinse them well before Yom Yov.

I just put the bleach in my coffee instead of milk.

Folgers regular instant coffee (non-decaf) does not need a pesach hechsher.

Folgers regular or any coffee is not ANYTHING. Coffee drinkers don’t drink that stuff. Did you ever taste dirty water? Folgers is almost as bad as that.

    Syag, it tastes the same.

Update: I saw all three kinds of TC on the shelf, plus a R’ Charmion certified decaf. I’ve also been told that the OU does approve of the FR.

Taster’s Choice and Folgers. I hate instant coffee, though.

Please bear in mind, that this year on 1st & 8th day Pesach being Shabbos, we cannot soak our Matzo in coffee if in Keli Sheni & above Yad Soledes Bo, as “Yesh Bishul Acharei Afiyo”; This was heard at a Shabbos haGodol Derosho earlier today.

Also, the OU informs me that the French Roast is acceptable again this year with a plain OU. They say all of the unflavored, non decaf varieties of Taster’s Choice are acceptable.

I generally don’t like the stickers but in this case, it’s actually inkjetted that it is a special run for Gefen.

Currently I use Tasters Choice/Gefen. I grew up with Maxwell House.

Is it OK to use Taster’s Choice if you use a Maxwell House hagaddah? Or is that considered kilayim?

If there is no such thing as “good instant coffee”, can there be such a thing as “the best instant coffee”?

Nespresso makes capsules that are Kosher all year round as well as Pesach under the Chief Rabbi of Basel Switzerland. Their Ristretto is probably the best coffee one can make in their house. It does require having a machine other than the normal one you might use all year. This year with all the days of Chol Hamoed falling out midweek, its well worth the price.

This year with all the days of Chol Hamoed falling out midweek Right now:- 6 out of 8 years, 2015 thru 2022, so even more worth the price than you Ephraim had realized.
