what type of seminary is bnos chava and what type of girls go there? and what type of girls are they when they come back? also when does bnos chava start?March 13, 2011 6:21 am at 6:21 am #749399
They start after sukkos.
It is a regular seminary. Most of the girls are from the midwest, and calgary, but there are a few from NY also.
The NY ones are usually girls who are a bit overweight so couldn’t get into other seminaries. (Serious business, Lakewood News and Brooklyn Report ranks seminaries by how fast their alumni get married.)
They learn regular seminary stuff, like how to take the bus to geula, and where to buy rugelach, and fro-yo.
When they come back, they usually become either OT, PT, SLP, or RN. But one of them did special ed.
If you go there, can you take my sister a package?March 13, 2011 6:27 am at 6:27 am #749400dunnoMember

The idea that any institution of learning would reject applicants on the basis of weight is a moral offense.March 13, 2011 12:52 pm at 12:52 pm #749403
but seriously when do they start?March 13, 2011 1:45 pm at 1:45 pm #749404
but seriously when do they start?
Is that the only question I didn’t answer satisfactorily?March 13, 2011 2:25 pm at 2:25 pm #749405
popa no but thats relly the only one i want to know i pretty much know the answer to the other questionsMarch 13, 2011 2:27 pm at 2:27 pm #749406
Let me get this straight.
You are going to Bnos chava, and don’t know when they start.
So you posted this, but hid your real question among the other ones.
So, are you from the midwest, calgary, or overweight?March 13, 2011 3:55 pm at 3:55 pm #749407candy613Member
ok bnos chava does not start after sukkos! Are you actually going?
If you are there is a lot you should know about it! Maybe talk to another girl going, or someone who is there, or has went recently. The girls there are especially helpful in getting info!

Why else do you think they ask for a picture of you on the application, if not to judge the weightMarch 13, 2011 8:27 pm at 8:27 pm #749409

Exactly. It is not a secret.March 13, 2011 8:49 pm at 8:49 pm #749410hanibParticipant
sorry folks – but they interview the girl personally – they don’t need to see the picture to get her weight.March 13, 2011 9:03 pm at 9:03 pm #749411☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant
Aha! So that’s why they told my sister that she’s on the weighting list.March 13, 2011 9:13 pm at 9:13 pm #749412stickynoteMember
“where to buy rugelach”
Sorry popa_bar_abba you are wrong on that one. You dont have the seminary girls menu perfect. Most girls don’t go out and buy rugelach. Its more of a guy’s thing.
Ok now lets talk about the guys: Breakfast: None
Lunch: whatever yeshiva gives them, or some weird concoctions from their dira fridge which they call food.
Snack: some bamba, bisslie or coke
Supper: Split a pie with their FRIEND(that is- 2 guys splitting one pie!), some falafel, “chips”, schwarma in halo taimon.. laffa.
Midnight snack: They go to Nechama’s bakery.
Did i miss anything?March 13, 2011 11:10 pm at 11:10 pm #749413
Most girls don’t go out and buy rugelach.
Yes, that is why the seminaries teach it.

So how far is Bnos Chava from BJJ anyway?March 14, 2011 1:22 pm at 1:22 pm #749415guy-ochoMember
stickynote: just adding to Popa. You missed out zollis pub, ben yehuda, eilat, egypt, nargila (hooka), tustusing (motorcycling) etc. There’s not enough space or time to write all the things you missed out.March 14, 2011 5:02 pm at 5:02 pm #749416stickynoteMember
guy-ocho: Thanks- also I forgot the beach, and Internet Cafe. Do you guys ever learn or just party? And to think you are going for yeshiva…
