From the bit of Googling I just did, R’ Wosner zt’l held that it’s under the category of chukos akum, based on the Rama. (Please don’t kill me for that- I literally Googled it in 2 seconds.)

From what I was taught in seminary, it’s a flashy color that stands out and attracts attention.

From what I was taught in high school, it’s a color that was and is worn by “women of the night,” and it evokes certain taavos.

If you want to paint your nails red, maybe you don’t want to go to such a yeshivish seminary. It’s quite a contradiction.

Sparkly – if you don’t want to say it’s you, then just ignore the questions. But to be so adamant about not even knowing why we would connect the two is a bit silly. The writing and content are almost identical, sometimes are actually identical.

Second, I think people were connecting the red nail polish bit (didn’t you just ask in the Halacha thread whether red nail polish was ok?) more than the “I come here when I am bored” bit of this thread.
