MsPrincess- sounds to me like he was being slightly sarcastic.January 5, 2016 3:56 am at 3:56 am #1179856
why are people so anti the color red nail polish? im allowed to wear red nail polish and think its the cutest thing.January 5, 2016 5:07 am at 5:07 am #1179857
Without getting into all the halachic discussions and ramifications, the color red is widely considered to be immodest.January 5, 2016 5:39 am at 5:39 am #1179858
techincal – why? its just really cute. the reason why im asking is because its kind of insulting to wear the color red all the time on my nails thinking other religious people have an issue with it when im loving my nails so im trying to understand whats wrong with it.January 5, 2016 5:56 am at 5:56 am #1179859👑RebYidd23Participant
Same as green hair. It’s part of the xmas color scheme.January 5, 2016 6:16 am at 6:16 am #1179860bk613Participant
MsPrincess, I’m surprised you don’t know the answer to ur own question seeing that your an expert in psychology. The human mind associates red with znus/inappropriate behavior, something chazal has known for many years.January 5, 2016 6:17 am at 6:17 am #1179861
From the bit of Googling I just did, R’ Wosner zt’l held that it’s under the category of chukos akum, based on the Rama. (Please don’t kill me for that- I literally Googled it in 2 seconds.)
From what I was taught in seminary, it’s a flashy color that stands out and attracts attention.
From what I was taught in high school, it’s a color that was and is worn by “women of the night,” and it evokes certain taavos.January 5, 2016 6:42 am at 6:42 am #1179862
everyone at college wears red but also there goyim but i just love the color red and think its so cute it has nothing to do with influences i think all frum girls should wear the color red on nails its so cute. i still dont get why there so anti it.January 5, 2016 7:02 am at 7:02 am #1179863
R’ Wosner’s psak has nothing to do with what happens in your college. Also, did you ignore the other two parts of my post?
If you want to paint your nails red, maybe you don’t want to go to such a yeshivish seminary. It’s quite a contradiction.January 5, 2016 7:08 am at 7:08 am #1179864
bk613- I’m not sure that MsPrincess knows what znus is, or understands what male taavos are- at least based on her previous posts.January 5, 2016 8:39 am at 8:39 am #1179865

Either your reading comprehension skills are non existent (which I doubt because you’re so smart) or ur purposely ignoring what u R being told. Ur question was answered more than once.January 5, 2016 5:11 pm at 5:11 pm #1179868👑RebYidd23Participant

Sparkly – if you don’t want to say it’s you, then just ignore the questions. But to be so adamant about not even knowing why we would connect the two is a bit silly. The writing and content are almost identical, sometimes are actually identical.September 15, 2016 1:34 pm at 1:34 pm #1179873SparklyMember

Sparkly- first of all it’s Pooh, not poo. Hope that was not a Freudian slip.
Second, I think people were connecting the red nail polish bit (didn’t you just ask in the Halacha thread whether red nail polish was ok?) more than the “I come here when I am bored” bit of this thread.September 16, 2016 4:23 am at 4:23 am #1179877HappygirlygirlMember
