hey, I just started a new job and its kinda what shal I say not as stimulating as I am used to…. I have lots of extra time kinda feel bored. I keep on asking my supervisor what I can do- what else should I focus on etc etc but there isnt that much altogether.. should I browse the net… log the coffee room… untill I am given something else to do- or should I just sit there- stiff bored? which one gives off a worst impression?
October 18, 2010 10:07 pm at 10:07 pm #701856smartcookieMemberWhy don’t you ask your supervisor if he/she minds if you browse online when bored. Many bosses actually like that bec this way you enjoy your job even if it’s not so busy.

OTOH, your supervisor no doubt visits the CR, so more than likely, you’re about to get a whole lot of work coming your way…..

That being said, it never hurts to organize/alphabetize/categorize (you get the drift) something without being told.

At another com[any I worked for, there were frum women , who were paid by the hour, who we caught answering their personal e-mail and buying things on line. I finally made them understand that doing this while being paid to work is stealing from the employer

October 19, 2010 2:39 pm at 2:39 pm #701868crdleMemberWhen my boss hired me a few years ago, he told me that I can use the phone and internet as much as I want, as long as the work load of the day is done its fine. It all depends on ur boss.

Arent you busy earning the “Greatest ????? of the Decade Award” alerting people about Halacha that is ignored”?
October 19, 2010 4:51 pm at 4:51 pm #701870WIYMemberShouldnt be here
I post Halachos Ltoeles the Oilum here because I care about other people and want them to do the right thing because I think the Oilum here is the type that would appreciate learning about Halachos that they don’t know so they can incorporate it into their lives. I’m not trying to be a Mochiach, just someone who wants to be Mezakeh others with Mitzvos.

So long as neither a nor b are violated there should be no grounds for discipline or disapproval. Despite that, it is still best to make sure that your supervisor won’t have a problem with your useage because a disgruntled supervisor can make you miserable even without grounds.
