For those who don’t understand sarcasm, Yossi was trying to show the attitude of many people who live in Brooklyn. And don’t think it’s not true.

Once, at my old job, I was arranging the showing of a video. I was told there were two different versions available: a yeshivish version and an out-of-town version. That is more than an implication that if you don’t live in New York you can’t possibly be yeshivish.

Can anyone doubt that Jerusalem is the holiest city in the universe? Yet Jerusalem, too, is considered “out-of-town” by New Yorkers. In reality, they, like the rest of us who aren’t in Jerusalem, truly do live out-of-town.

As oy vey kids these days pointed out, at one time many people said Berlin was the new Jerusalem. How did that work out for them? The writing is clearly on the wall. Take the time to read it.
