You’re looking at a broad range of camps. Take into consideration his age, who else from his school is going where, price for starters.
bei kytas a great one my brothers been there since it started a fe wyears ago he loves it but thats all i know….another brother is in munk, which he loves its very sport-minded but has a great learning program

i was in mogen av its a good camp but a little strict
My 2 boys have been going to Bei Kyta since it started. It has a strong learning plus organized leages and afternoon programs. Both my boys took the life guard course and got Red Cross certified. They both worked as life guards. The boys love the camp and the rabbis, Rabbi Kaufman and Rabbi Beenstock (Beenfield? Some one correct me) know the boys well and the boys like and respect them. The only problem is that it is very far to go to visit on Visiting Day.

cant help you about boys camps but if you need any help with girls camps let me know i can help out, i went to a few…
My sons, at different times, have attended Agudath (Catskills), Dora Golding (Poconos) and Mogen Av.
We’ve also heard rumors, probably caused by that rasha Madoff’s scandals, that Mogen Av was closing. I called the office today, they said everything is fine.
i can also -but if i help u out it will be a little obvious to e/o who know me…who i am they will figure it out in a sec…i have to get a new screen name first….hope the editor and mods let that
Don’t have internet – what camp can you help with?
just me … chances i know who your kids are (2 kids trained and worked as lifegaurds … not that difficult to figure out) … and if i do, they are both great guys.
that being said, I can answer specific questions, and all I have to say is positive (learning, rebbeim, sports, etc.)
Girls camp – Machaneinu is a great choice for a frum, easygoing place..

this is too funy surfer and dont have internet, I was not there this past summer but 3 or 4 ago, for Rina, so I doubt I know who you are… unles u were staff then as well.

I heard that there was an ad in this weeks yated saying that mogen av closed and heller will be taking its place. Anyone can confirm?

qaws and qwertyuiop: Heller and Mogen Av are both owned by the same people, and are combining. I’m not sure which name they’ll use, but I think the MA staff will run the junior division and the Heller staff the senior.

Yoyo, I don’t think Bei Kayta is too materialistic, although these days are different from when I went to camp. Bei Kayta has refrigerators and gas grill for each bunk so the kids don’t bring their own. When you see boys leaving for camp these days, you’d think they are moving away from home!
DontHaveInternet: I don’t know if you know who my boys are, but I will agree with you that they are great guys. They have also been there since the Camp Heller days. Do I have to change my screen name now that you might know who I am? Do you REALLY know who I am just becaue you know my kids? 🙂
