How do they know not to bump into buildings?
No, they always crash into moving cars.
They do sometimes, They can fall into buildings and sometimes they even grow in buildings (If they are not trimmed and the building is abandoned, trees grow in them)
Lots of trees bumped into buildings during Sandy.
Trees do bump into buildings, and will even grow through a building if able to do so (depends on how strong the building is).
Trees have some senses that let them know when to shed leaves, etc., but nothing resembling vision.

More importantly – do they hear (when they fall)? 😛
Trees have been found to be able to communicate with other trees, by releasing scents and chemicals to signal stress, insect danger and other ‘tree’ concerns. There are studies (including my own) that plants respond to the spoken word positively and negatively. I see no reason a tree should be less sensitive than a bean sprout.
