    there are some that say that people nowadays are making chanukah abouts the food. i mean, the food is great, but are we missing something? like you’ll see “oil free donuts ” advertised. HELLLLLOOOO JJJOOEEE!!!! missing the point! (Or so my mechanchos are saying)

    Without oil defeats its purpose Oil is why there is a minhag to eat latkes.

    Does the $16 donut contain silver or gold? Anyone paying that much for a donut, that’s $192 a dozen has their priorities wrong. It’s a much greater mitzvah to skip the donut and give the $16 to tzdaka.

    It’s not just Chanukah = donuts its the same with every Yom Tov
    Purim = Hamentashen, starting Tu- beshvat or even earlier of course, go into any bakery and you will be astonished over the huge variety available.
    Pesach= Kosher L’pesach cakes
    Shvuos = Cheescake
    Sukkos = All types of Ushpezen themed pastry Not to mention Ein Simcha ela b’basar a good roast.
    It’s all about food
    Oh I forgot about Shabbos….
