Very often I get letters from non Jewish charities, where they attach one or two coins such as nickel or quarters.
Do we need to send that back, or just keep the coins.
Keep it .
Why waste a good stamp returning junk mail ?
You could send back a receipt. 🙂
And set aside the coins for tzedakah.
Wondering according to halachah.
You can keep anything anyone sends you. You did not ask for the item so its considered a gift
According to halacha you don’t have to send it back. It could even be that you are not permitted to send it back.
What if the coins were used for avodah zara?
What if returning the coins will contribute towards avodah zara?
Thank you all for the answers. I will continue to put the coins into tzedakah.
