If you’ve heard of any organizations seeking clothing, food, coats, toiletries, places to stay for Shabbos, etc. that will help members of communitie struck hard by Sandy, please list them here so we can all help. I think it is a more direct form of chesed to put a roof over a someone’s head and give them a warm meal to eat, than to donate money.
I was wondering if they could use some midwesterners to spend a couple days volunteering with shomrim. I have some relatives who would probably do it if they would be allowed to help out. Who would I even ask?
