Have you eaten them?
Serious question please: How is this a treat?
Aren’t dried (not raw) lentils non-food (they must be cooked or sprouted)?
Plus that’s a lot for a mouth full of teeth to chew up (so make sure that you only chew it without teeth).
Thank youFebruary 28, 2017 12:01 am at 12:01 am #1220475👑RebYidd23Participant
Chocolate lentils are not lentils, they are like M&Ms.February 28, 2017 12:01 am at 12:01 am #1220476yytzParticipant
Chocolate lentils are just candies — they call them that because they’re shaped like lentils and they can’t say “m&m’s”, not because they have lentils.February 28, 2017 12:02 am at 12:02 am #1220477
Rewind…. Just realized that chocolate lentils are not chocolate covered lentils (in my defense they seriously look like they are and I guess that’s why they seriously called them that).
Btw chocolate lentil brownies look really goodMarch 1, 2017 1:03 am at 1:03 am #1220478
Unlike M&M’s, they are pareve. At least most of the time, if not all the time. I don’t know if they make them milchiks, but if they do, I probably wouldn’t call them “chocolate lentils”; I would probably call them “Cholov Yisrael M&M’s” or “Cholov Yisrael Reese’s Pieces”.
Speaking of which, can anyone explain to me why no one has yet invented Cholov Yisrael Peanut Butter Cups? Someone I know made them once, and they tasted as good as the real stuff, so there’s no excuse.
If someone were to do that, there would probably be a tremendous market for it, and I would probably start keeping Cholov Yisrael since there would no longer be a reason not to.March 1, 2017 3:51 am at 3:51 am #1220479
Dearest LU: Today is your lucky day!
Google “cholov yisroel peanut butter cups”
The first result in my search is a link to a store that sells just that ~ Cholov Yisroel Peanut Butter Cups
AKA *Gourmet Dairy Peanut Butter Cups* (Cholov Yisroel)
“This product is approved Kosher by the Star-K-Dairy Cholov Yisroel”
Now imho, the cost factor may be an issue at $35. Dunno about shipping to EY. Still it makes for a very special gift 🙂March 1, 2017 11:59 pm at 11:59 pm #1220480

Next you’ll be telling me that jelly beans aren’t beans and that Kit Kats aren’t made out of felines.

YY: I’m down. Even would do a quarter at least 🙂
Wolf: Grrrness. Sorry this whole “chocolate lentils” thing is new to me. I went to a Kosher candy site and saw them. Chocolate lentils. I figured that it’s like Chocolate almonds. Or Chocolate cherries.
Do I really need to explain? Obviously not. I don’t have to defend myself for believing something was a real thing. At least I am open-minded and can imagine it being a real thing.
I lived in a very vegan world before too… so it’s pretty normal to hear of healthy and yet odd food combinations.
Anyway. Thanks.March 2, 2017 2:48 am at 2:48 am #1220484
Ps. Chocolate kale is delicious!March 2, 2017 4:15 am at 4:15 am #1220485
YY – great idea! I’ll look out for a mishloach manos of peanut butter cups from the CR on Purim.March 2, 2017 5:17 pm at 5:17 pm #1220486hujuParticipant
Hokey smoke, Bullvinkleoyehvich. I just realized that chocolate matzah is not really matzah, and I’ve been doing seders wrong for 50 years.March 3, 2017 3:15 am at 3:15 am #1220487blubluhParticipant
So, if it is foolish to think that chocolate covered lentils contain real lentils, does that extend to chocolate covered ants?March 3, 2017 3:48 am at 3:48 am #1220488
Chocolate matzah is chocolate covered matzah.
So that’s partially true.
Matzah … half glass half fullMarch 3, 2017 4:54 am at 4:54 am #1220490
Ew I really wish I didn’t Google chocolate ants.
Anyone have a mind eraser?March 3, 2017 4:55 am at 4:55 am #1220491

LOL. So, I guess that delicacy won’t appear in any of your shaloch manos deliverables. Good thing this thread came up a few weeks before Purim. 🙂March 3, 2017 2:55 pm at 2:55 pm #1220493
Yes my apologies in advance to anyone who was hoping for such a treat
