LIVEandLEARN- I don’t think you should make such a blanket statement about everyone in Chofetz Chaim. My family is not a “Chofetz Chaim family” and I have gotten plenty of “yesses” from guys from there.
To all of you posters who are speculating on the reasons, and whether or not YTY is justified in closing its gimel shiur, most of you do not have a clue as to what you are talking about. Obviously, the people who make the decisions are intelligent, considerate people who weighed all the factors before reaching a decision. If it was done, its because it had to be done for many reasons. This thread should probably be closed as it is really ridiculous.
