Yaron Lischinsky, a Christian-Israeli diplomat working at the Israeli embassy in Washington, DC, was killed with his American fiancé, Sarah Lynn Milgrim, who was also employed at the Israeli embassy, which is where they met prior to their pending engagement. Mr. Lischinsky who was born in Germany to a Jewish father and Christian mother, moved to Israel at the age of 16, where he remained a devout practicing Christian.

Miss Milgrim’s parents were not aware that he was intending to propose marriage to their daughter, until after she was murdered, and the Israeli ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, informed them as such last night.

There was a detailed article on that in the anti-religious “Forward”, which is probably reliable on this point. My guess is that the mainstream Jewish and Israeli media will discuss this in the context of funeral arrangements.

The murderer was looking for Yidden. So he hit a Christian by mistake. What happens to her Neshama and his whatever is the Ribbono Shel Olam’s business. בפשטות she was a תינוק שנשבה and was murdered for being a Yid. Do you think for a second that if I you and I were there that he wouldn’t have shot us? Now, knowing you, before you start telling me he was looking to kill ‘Zionists’… A certain non-Jewish politician once came to visit the דברי יואל zt”l. Not knowing his audience better, he started giving a whole shmuez how he’s so pro-Israel etc… The askonim in the room kept quiet, but were obviously uncomfortable… After he left, the Rebbe told them “A Goy doesn’t know the sugyah of שלש שבועות and all the things Jewishly wrong with Zionism… When he says he likes Israel, he means to say he likes Yidden. And when a Goy says he hates Israel he means he hates Yidden… So stop trying/pretending to be more ‘Satmar’ than the דברי יואל himself…

Miss Milgrim was a member of the local Reform Temple in her hometown in Kansas.

The fact that Hashem is perfect in his cheshbonos is known to us as maaminim. He turned a life of chillul hashem into a death al kiddush hashem. But this does not create a silver lining. If anything, this murder obligates those sinful Jews – who for decades tried to fabricate a distinction between loving Tziyon and being a Jew – to take a serious cheshbon hanefesh now that the modern day Hitlers are using this false distinction to kill Jews like rabbits. Blood is on your hands.

At the Israeli embassy in Washington, Miss Milgrim was assigned to work with homosexual groups and women’s organizations, and she was in charge of outreach to progressive and social justice-oriented groups.

I have no idea if what you posted is correct. I would hope Yaron was considering conversion before marrying Sarah. We can all agree assimilation and intermarriage is tragic. But at a time, when most young Jews deny or even loath their Jewishness, these two young people embraced it. Obviously they had a connection to the Jewish people, if not in the traditional sense, certainly in their national and personal identity. They may not have lived as observant Jews (or even been halachically Jewish) but they were murdered as Jews, and should be mourned. HY”D

ujm said – “Miss Milgrim was a member of the local Reform Temple in her hometown in Kansas.”

So ממה נפשך. If she was Jewish according to Halacha, so she was a תינוקת שנשבה למהדרין מן המהדרין לכל הדעות, because she didn’t even grow up in a place where she was likely to encounter Orthodox Jews of any kind. If she wasn’t Jewish כהלכה then she wasn’t doing anything wrong by planning to marry a non-Jew… At any rate, as has been pointed out, the filthy רוצח who killed them didn’t check their יחוס first. If your point is that the secular Israeli State and its overseas agencies spread confusion on the subject of מי הוא יהודי, then yes, that is a big problem. But people with basic human sensitivity understand that now is not the time to talk about this issue.

“At the Israeli embassy in Washington, Miss Milgrim was assigned to work with homosexual groups and women’s organizations, and she was in charge of outreach to progressive and social justice-oriented groups.”

If you learned Maseches Sanhedrin and Maseches Makkos you would know that even someone who actually did חיובי מיתה במזיד, and was executed by בית דין, we say כיון שלקה הרי הוא כאחיך. If you have complaints or ideas about where her נשמה is going, you have to take that up with the בית דין של מעלה, but I don’t recommend being in a hurry to visit their office… Honestly, I don’t know if you and I are better in Hashem’s eyes than her. She really and truly didn’t know better. In her limited understanding of Judaism, she probably thought that working at the Israeli Embassy was a very wonderful Jewish thing to do. Is it sad that innocent נשמות are confused by all kinds of meshigasen, including but not limited to those promoted by the Israeli Government? Yes, very much so. If that bothers you, (and it should), so either engage in קירוב רחוקים or donate to those who do… You’d be surprised that right here in ארץ ישראל you can find many fine Kosher anti-Zionist Yidden who are big into being מקרב our brothers and sisters, and are capable of communicating with them in a way they can appreciate. If you can’t do that, then at least don’t do damage.

Coffee Addict – Is she someone who died “על קידוש ה׳”?

There is a חקירה (IIRC already among the Rishonim), whether someone like this who was killed because she was Jewish, but not offered a choice of יהרג ואל יעבור, is considered to have died על קידוש השם. There are מקורות that she is, but on a lower level. What happened to her is probably a very big תיקון for her נשמה. At any rate, this is only relevant in the בית דין של מעלה, and there they are capable of figuring that out…

Chaim Baruch, Yaron was a practicing Christian. It is highly unlikely that he had considered conversion before marrying her. If anything, he’d have wanted to convince her to convert to his religion.
Ujm says that Sarah Milgrim was a member of a reform temple in Kansas, so it’s anyone’s guess whether she was halachically Jewish or not.
But let’s not ignore Hashem’s signal to us.
This couple was murdered by someone who, if given the opportunity, would shoot every single Jew on Planet Earth. He killed them because he thought that they were Jewish. It’s Hashem’s wake-up call to us. Each of us knows what we need to work on to live “al Kiddush Hashem”. If we don’t get the message when it’s more distant, Hashem can bring it closer to home.

The main point is that Yaron Lischinsky, a Christian-Israeli diplomat working at the Israeli embassy in Washington, DC, was killed, Mr. Lischinsky who was born in Germany to a Jewish father and Christian mother, moved to Israel at the age of 16, where he remained a devout practicing Christian. The Forward adds that he found a spiritual home in a Messianic congregation near Jerusalem’s bustling Mahane Yehuda market. The problem is that Lishinsky a non-Jew, who is a missionary, was granted Israeli citizenship with his christian mother. All this is encouraging assimalation in the State of Israel.

No, this murderer had the opportuity that evening to shoot many more, but he said his goal was only to protest the evil zionist regime. He hid with his gun amongst the panicking survivors who did not know he was the shooter until police came and he volunteered himself as the shooter.

So, no, this was an evil political statement not a “kill as many jews” act.

There is also no reason to think that he cared if they were Jewish or not. He, along with many Jews, hates Zionism and the evil that regime does in the world.

The Messianic congregation Yaron Lischinsky belonged to seeks to recruit Jews to Yushke worship.

This is who Israel gives visas to immigrate.

It seems that both of these individuals were non Jews. All loss of human life is a tragedy; however, as a Jew, I’m grateful to G-d that my extended Jewish family was spared from death by this leftist Nazi.

Marrying a gentile is one of the things that cuts one off from the Jewish People.

It is one of the type of actions (another is converting to another religion) that Jews traditionally sit Shiva over a person r”l, even before they physically die.

SArah MIlgrim’s mother was a reform convert. Do the math.

    #2403877

Mixed marriages are not that simple. The Jewish person obviously did an aveirah, possibly being unaware of it (not being raised religious, or believing that reform conversions are kosher), BUT the non-Jew who married a Jew is rarely aware that this is a problem from Jewish point of view. Furthermore, in many circumstances, their motivation is worthy and even heroic – despite anti-Jewish opinions of the society and their own relatives. So, such people possibly have very worthy people in their ancestry.

Thanks to ujm and his ilk who do not participate in the Israeli elections….

The medina would have been much more jewish if all religious voters , voted.

    Not voting is also voting.

It is a vote for those who seek to recruit jews to yoshke.

    Same counts for WZO .

While this is true, they officially call their false moshiach “Zionism”, a distinctly different name for a similar idolatry (some Gedolim say it’s not actual idolatry)

Major error in headline and your post.
The female was not YET (and will now not be) the diplomat’s fiancée. He bought the ring and was about to propose.
This is typical goyische method, buy and show the ring to entice girl to say yes. Does not say much for the midos of the women swayed into marriage by the sparkle of a stone

XCtl, Jews use money as Kiddushin, there is nothing wrong for a woman to look for financial stability from a hatan.
