August 15, 2018 12:17 am at 12:17 am #1574265Reb EliezerParticipantMentioned in the above biography is a story about a young man who was called to serve in the army. He went to Rav Yonasan zt”l who give him an incantation to say before he saw the doctor. When he said , the goats in the slaughter house are fatter than me (Tractate Megilla), he became a lepper, so the doctor through him out in order not to get infected. When he left and went out to the steet, it disappeared.
August 15, 2018 6:06 am at 6:06 am #1574376JosephParticipantI love that story, laskern. Thank you for sharing it.
August 19, 2018 2:06 pm at 2:06 pm #1576546Reb EliezerParticipantThe story above is mentioned in many places just that it does not say that he became a lepper only that he developed a swelling on his hand that released puss which was considered contagious.
September 8, 2019 11:38 pm at 11:38 pm #1784986Reb EliezerParticipantTomorrow 9th Elul will be his 61st Yohr Tzeit.
August 16, 2021 11:38 am at 11:38 am #2000297Reb EliezerParticipantTuesday will be the 63rd Yahr Tzeit.
August 29, 2022 4:45 pm at 4:45 pm #2119512Reb EliezerParticipantIn the story above there are two errors. One a grammatical error, should be, who gave him an incantation. Two, a spelling error, should be, threw him out. The 64th yahrzeit will be the 9th of Elul, Monday Sept 5. The young man, validated by Mrs. Esther Bleier above, was my rebbi at Adas Yereim, Wiener Yeshiva, Rav Holtzer ztz’l.
