I just read in israel newswire that some russian millionaire bought Hitler Yemachemo’s car. It just made me nauseous. What do you think?

November 24, 2009 4:15 am at 4:15 am #668738tamazaballMemberthey shouldve burned the car a long time ago!
November 24, 2009 5:05 am at 5:05 am #668739bein_hasdorimParticipantmybat; empty?
November 24, 2009 5:20 am at 5:20 am #668740pookieMembermybat, before they burn it they should run over all the remaining nazi’s
November 24, 2009 5:41 am at 5:41 am #668741ronrsrMemberSometimes a car is just a car. If the man thinks it is more valuable due to the infamy of his provenance, isn’t that his problem. Why destroy the car? It is not the car’s problem, it is a problem of some people’s belief system and values.
November 24, 2009 7:43 am at 7:43 am #668742williMembermaybe burn the nazi’s together w/ the car??

November 25, 2009 4:18 am at 4:18 am #668745tamazaballMemberronsr. why destroy the car, because that car had that evil man in it, and anything that had any contact with that man is evil.!
November 25, 2009 5:35 am at 5:35 am #668747baal kishronParticipantwhile i definitely understand and sympathize with your sentiments the way i understood it is that by collecting pieces of history makes him somehow cultured and important
think about it if your a billionaire you really have nothing else left to do in your life but try to get approval and acceptance from others who you believe to be above your humble beginnings so he is just trying to fit in and be a collector of history same thing goes for any objects that belonged to any murderous tyrant they still become valuable in the eyes of the bored rich people who have nothing better to do with their lives as time passes
November 25, 2009 7:42 am at 7:42 am #668748haifagirlParticipantbaal kishron: I undestand English may not be your first language, but please punctuate.
November 25, 2009 7:48 am at 7:48 am #668749mazcaMemberI think the items get kedushah from the tzadikim that touche those items, this also goes the same way, that car is full of tumaah and just because the rich feels it is worth something it is not , probably he will end up loosing all his money from the tumaah of that car. Something like that has no Brachah.
November 25, 2009 7:55 pm at 7:55 pm #668750baal kishronParticipantits no fun posting if i have to punctuate properly then i feel like i am writing an assignment for college and believe me that is no fun
November 25, 2009 8:04 pm at 8:04 pm #668751haifagirlParticipantball kishron: If you want people to understand what you are trying to convey, it would help if you would punctuate.
November 25, 2009 8:22 pm at 8:22 pm #668752ronrsrMemberAn English teacher once explained to me that punctuation and clear writing is simply consideration for the poor soul who may have to read it. He said, “Have unbounded sympathy for reader, and you will be performing a kindness for all who read what you write, and your writing will improve.”
November 25, 2009 8:27 pm at 8:27 pm #668753haifagirlParticipantThank you ronrsr. Very well put.
