My daughter is in a special ed school and they called me today that they need help covering payroll. I am currently looking for leads for fundraising ideas. Prefferably something that doesn’t involve too much work…
Thanks a million!
February 8, 2011 3:08 am at 3:08 am #738688✡onegoal™ParticipantPurim cards and/or bags, ready made shaloch manos.

February 8, 2011 3:18 am at 3:18 am #738690chanabMemberThank you so much for the idea, but every school/shul/organization already does that here. I am currently looking into bringing a video. Any contacts or leads would be helpful.
Thanks!
February 8, 2011 3:33 am at 3:33 am #738691mommyof5MemberPurim cards – the “in lieu of sending Mishloach Manos” ones. Inexpensive to create, and they sell well.
February 8, 2011 11:01 am at 11:01 am #738692haifagirlParticipantPre-pesach car wash and/or pre-pesach cleaning help. These are things the kids can do to help bring in money for their school.
February 8, 2011 2:56 pm at 2:56 pm #738693mdpaMemberIt may be too far away to be helpful but selling Mother’s Day breakfast baskets is a good fundraiser. People order based on how many servings they need and Mother’s Day morning a basket is delivered to the door with breakfast- bagels, cc, lox, pastry, juice, etc.
February 8, 2011 3:21 pm at 3:21 pm #738694chanabMemberhaifa-they are elementary kids
mdpa-great idea, thanks
February 8, 2011 5:47 pm at 5:47 pm #738695BowwowParticipantIt’s almost Purim. How about a Megilla raffle? You can buy a very nice Megilla for less than $1,000. Sell the tickets for $36 each and you won’t have to sell that many to cover your expenses.
February 8, 2011 11:10 pm at 11:10 pm #738696Sister BearMemberI am currently looking into bringing a video. Any contacts or leads would be helpful.
My sister was looking into doing that to raise money for her grades graduation trip, and it wasn’t worth it (at least the all girls ones), you had to pay for the video and per person, like they charge $10 per person so you would have to up it to like $20.

February 9, 2011 4:03 am at 4:03 am #738698smartcookieMemberYou can set up a lemonade stand 😉

February 10, 2011 1:15 am at 1:15 am #738702yummy cupcakeMemberhow about a bake sale or something? or actually, one school where i live does a rummage sale- bring everything you can find from anywhere in ur house, anything that is not used that may be a treasure for someone else. sell the things for cheap, and more ppl will come buy.

February 10, 2011 1:27 am at 1:27 am #738705600 Kilo BearMemberThis one is unfortunately real and not one of my jokes….bet against dying people by buying life insurance policies on them. When it [comes] time to collect, [slip] families of the deceased 10 percent…
can anyone guess who dreamed up this fundraiser for an actual frum school?????
February 10, 2011 1:30 am at 1:30 am #738706eclipseMemberDon’t worry,I shall say no more.
February 10, 2011 1:56 am at 1:56 am #738707IrishYidMemberthe bake sale is a good idea…Jews love food, we’re good at making food, and we’re good at making money, so its all good. Hatzlochah!
February 10, 2011 3:31 am at 3:31 am #738708hudiParticipantWhat about a purim kit?
You can put in a package of face paint, some cute gift bags, a couple groggers, maybe a mask. Kids can buy them to use for purim.
February 10, 2011 3:34 am at 3:34 am #738709chanabMemberEclipse-LOL! t’was me. We’ll be in touch IY”H
600- The district I live in is not NY, thus no gov’t moneys to school.
I like the Mother’s Day basket idea. Maybe I’ll try that.
Thanks for all your help!
February 10, 2011 3:51 am at 3:51 am #738710eclipseMemberJust curious–you knew be4 I told you?
February 10, 2011 4:05 pm at 4:05 pm #738711chanabMemberHad a suspicion since you posted the video ad here, but wasnt sure. Thought maybe you were showing it like I want to. Good luck! BTW did you ever teach current events – 10th grade?
February 10, 2011 4:18 pm at 4:18 pm #738712eclipseMemberCurrent Events? No!
My position on current events is “please just tell me if there’s a war I should know about”….
Why? Which school?
February 10, 2011 4:50 pm at 4:50 pm #738713chanabMemberShe had the same last name as you, but now that i think about it she got married that year and her maiden name was yours. Oh, it was current issues and more like a shmooze with the teacher class. BYDMHS… Probably in 97?
February 10, 2011 5:15 pm at 5:15 pm #738714eclipseMemberNot related, and don’t know that school.Oh well. The current events here is that my 5 year old has fever and I’m about to give him Motrin.Have a great Shabbos!
February 10, 2011 5:38 pm at 5:38 pm #738715truth4ruthParticipantHow about starting a school library, if there isn’t one already. Parents/Grandparents/ etc… can donate books l’zecher nishamas or as a z’chus for someone. Ongoing income and the school gains the books and the donation!
Also, how about taking individual pictures and/or class pictures and sell packages to parents/grandparents. With digital pictures and printing is so simple and it’s pretty hard not to take a nice picture. And who wouldn’t buy a picture of their own kid?
