Anyone heard/seen him recently? He stopped posting to his youtube channel many months ago.January 5, 2022 9:25 am at 9:25 am #2048315GadolhadorahParticipant
Was he the Chabad moishichist who went around singing and engaging with guys on the street to acknowledge the rebbe etc. etc. Last I heard, he was moving to EY but perhaps Covid slowed him downJanuary 5, 2022 12:17 pm at 12:17 pm #2048372
Not sure if he was a moishichist, but you’re def talking about the same Yid. He was living in Tzfat years ago, but he was back in Boro Park as of about a year ago. Just curious if any locals of BP have seen him around recently.January 6, 2022 5:06 pm at 5:06 pm #2048845yitzchokmParticipant

Glad to see some of the eccentrics are still around, with Yankel Feferkorn, Yankeleh Fuest AKA Mechuctin, Shelly and YukYuk all in Olam Habah glad to see some are still around.

When was Yankel Feferkorn niftar??January 9, 2022 10:48 am at 10:48 am #2049455
There’s an article about Boro Park in the New York Times 14 years ago, titled In the Land of Black Coats, that mentions David Sondik.January 9, 2022 11:14 am at 11:14 am #2049460GadolhadorahParticipant
There was also another eccentric yid in Brooklyn years ago nicknamed as “Mendel the Coat Rack” who also may have been niftar since he was quite old when I remember reading about him. Its interesting how back then, we had much greater tolerance and were considerably more supportive of individuals who did not fit within the “norm” of the stereotypes we created for various segments of the tzibur. There were also some really colorful characters who were regulars at Landau’s minyanim for whom words could not fully describe.January 9, 2022 2:24 pm at 2:24 pm #2049467
Mendel was niftar close to ten years ago, I think. You could always find him hitching rides.January 9, 2022 2:25 pm at 2:25 pm #2049485commonsaychelParticipant
Mendel died about 2 years ago, someone told be Yankel is gone about a year agoJanuary 9, 2022 2:25 pm at 2:25 pm #2049487AviraDeArahParticipant

I remember Yeshiva World posting about Mendel’s petira. I was embarrassed because it was the first time I learned his last name.
