Re anonymouse: I’m married with kids and I get this. It means, having to wake up kids, not sleeping in yourself if the kids are old enough to be on their own safely, homework, and yeah, worrying about real life issues like job security etc. that you put on hold when in yom tov mode.

But B”H so far so good 😉

I think by the end of this day (first day back to real life for most of us) noone will need any tips on how to get back to reality. The first day is always the hardest.

My first day was Friday, I went to work and B”H baked challah, if that is not getting into the swing of things, then what is!!!

I could have happily stayed Pesachdig through the weekend.

oomis, I wouldn’t have minded much myself. But my children were very pleased to eat toast motzai pesach.

    #643142

Poll: Did anyone stay pesachdik thru shabbos? I would have had no problem with it, but like anon, my kids would not have appreciated it.

charlie: NO over here! And anyways, some pressure to finish up with everything is good. If not, turning over just drags on and on.

Mrs YW Moderator-72, Jr. Moderator-72, and I baked 10 pounds of Challah (5lbs. Whole Wheat and a sugar substitute and 5lbs. Regular Wheat and real sugar) e’Shabbos.

We even had time to distribute some of the challahs as we do each month. http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/challah-group-in-zchus-of-the-people-in-mumbai

Having major problems with sleeping patterns – sleeping in the afternoon on Yom Tov in order to be able to have a full night (with learning after the meal) has messed up my normal sleeping patterns – it hopefully will not take too long to revert back to normal

we still have about 6 lbs 0f matzah Shmurah and 4 boxes of regular matzah to finish. Instead of waiting on insanely long lines at the pizza store, Motzei Pesach, we made matzah pizza. We had Matzah pizza again for Sunday lunch. Please don’t tell me to make it into Matzah meal. I have 5 boxes of those leftover. My brother came by yesterday to drop off something and asked If I wanted 4 lb boxes of regular Matzah. I said he had to be kidding and please find another taker!! LOL

so areivim, that means a) you were very machnis orchim (shkoyach) and b) you shopped wisely.

I had several boxes of shemurah left over, so we donated a couple to our shul to make a neilas hachag seuda, and one box I gave to my friend after yom tov because she really LOVES shemurah matzah.

you should have come here. there are about 3 lbs of hand-made and two boxes (are they one-pound boxes?) of machine left. no one’s going to touch them, i can assure that much.

i didn’t buy anything. that’s my parents faults. thank the good aibeshter we don’t have any crazy rules around here… we’d all starve till next pesach – there’s no way that’s getting eaten.

For Kapusta, Jax and all the rest of the concerned CR members:

    1. we only wait to finish pesach CAKE before buying/making chometz ones. We’re not forced to choke down the rest of the matzah before being aloud to eat bread/challah/bagels/pizza etc.-thank goodness.

    2. we know that if rule #1 was not in effect, the cake would stay in the freezer until it rots.

    3. the reason it took us all that long to finish the cake is, because we had lots of guests second days (u proud oomis?) so we OVERBAKED! But thank goodness, with a lot of siyata D’shmaya and help from above, the cakes are history and we can now gorge in on all the chometz cakes in the world.

and kapusta, NO THANKS. Keep those pesach cakes in your freezer to yourself. They’re probably freezerburnt by now anyways 🙂
