A few days ago I was bored while driving, so i called one of those Pakistani scam computer people (the ones that put spyware via remote login on your computer while claiming their removing viruses) and asked to please transfer me to an american rep (which of course they dont have). He asked me whats wrong with Pakistanis, and i replied “Pakistanis are dirty stealers that scam people out of their money…” and proceeded with a few more adjectives describing them ( i was angry about the lady that was scammed out of her money)
This is where it got interesting. He knew that I knew exactly what he is, but decided to engage. He calmly asked “why shouldn’t we steal and scam people for their money” which I said cause its animalistic and you die a piece of garbage. He then said “exactly, you die, isn’t the point in life getting money so you can do what you want, it doesn’t matter who you were once you die”.
I had no answer. We fully believe in a Din Vecheshbon (either in this world or the next) but what could have I responded with? He clearly doesn’t believe in the after life (or definitely not a din vchesbon) so what possible motivating factor can keep him from stealing???
Its been a few days and I still cant think of what would have been a good response
March 18, 2019 1:40 pm at 1:40 pm #1697757LOTR92ParticipantAsk him if after he dies, can we use his body for dog food. Most sane people say no. Then, ‘Why not? Why do you care what happens to your body after death?’ It’s not a logical answer but a emotional one.
March 18, 2019 5:17 pm at 5:17 pm #1697752JosephParticipantHe won the debate you little racist.
March 18, 2019 6:32 pm at 6:32 pm #1697966whitecarParticipantAnti scammer
March 18, 2019 8:17 pm at 8:17 pm #1698063HeargodParticipantMr white car. U can respond that money is not the point of life as evedent by people who win the lottery and are extremely depressed.
There are many productive reasons to live if one is not Jewish and does not have the torah, ways in which one feels good in what they are doing or how they are living. If one has a productive job that they enjoy doing that helps the world. Or the love that one has for their family and the joy they have when they spend time with their spouse and kids.
While the Pakistani may still believe it will be gone when they die u can tell him all the I’m he is alive he will be happier this way that always running after the next dollar
While capitalism may be beneficial for society unfortunately it skewers ones value system into thinking the goal in life is money which its not, people keep on running after that dollar and are never happy.
And it is well known that such belief is avodah Zara.
One must play by the rules of the capitalist game to make a living but one must not worship the all mighty dollar and run after it like it’s hashemMarch 18, 2019 8:18 pm at 8:18 pm #1698067☕️coffee addictParticipantI had a similar conversation today with a quasi religious person
He asked me “do we know for sure that there is an afterlife?”
I answered “if there wasn’t what is the point of life“
March 18, 2019 9:14 pm at 9:14 pm #1698092👑RebYidd23ParticipantBut what’s the point in an afterlife if there’s no other point in life?
March 18, 2019 9:20 pm at 9:20 pm #1698080👑RebYidd23ParticipantHeargod, if money were the point of life, a depressed lottery winner would not be evidence, since happiness isn’t the point.
March 18, 2019 9:20 pm at 9:20 pm #1698082JosephParticipant“I answered “if there wasn’t what is the point of life“”
To serve Hashem. Even if there’s no afterlife.
March 18, 2019 9:21 pm at 9:21 pm #1698083writerParticipantHow do you debate them on their belief in avoda Zara? Is there any concrete answer to prove to them how these are false gods and idols and there are no others but HIM?
March 18, 2019 9:22 pm at 9:22 pm #1698087ZionGateParticipantRe: Winning lottery and extreme depression.
To paraphrase Tevye in Fiddler, when told money is a curse…..
Let me be smitten with it (riches) and never recover.
I’ll deal with depression a day later.🤣March 18, 2019 9:46 pm at 9:46 pm #1698119March 18, 2019 9:46 pm at 9:46 pm #1698118HeargodParticipantMr ziongate. Nice qoute😁, but u forget what the good book says. The good book says “if u stand on your head u will get a bigger brain”😂
March 18, 2019 9:58 pm at 9:58 pm #1698128ZionGateParticipantLol, Heargod…. Ahhh, the good book.

March 18, 2019 10:58 pm at 10:58 pm #1698158Uncle BenParticipantWhitecar; I doubt these scammers are Pakistani. They are usually Godless Pagan Indians not Muslim Pakis.
Usually when I get these calls I pretend I’m playing along until the part where they say; what do you see on your screen now? Then I say, it says Congratulations, you have been scammed!March 18, 2019 10:58 pm at 10:58 pm #1698159☕️coffee addictParticipantTo serve Hashem. Even if there’s no afterlife.
But Hashem is a מיטב so He couldn’t have just created us just to serve Him
March 19, 2019 8:32 am at 8:32 am #1698191whitecarParticipant@coffee addict i actually heard that is one of the greatest mysteries that we do not have an answer for
March 19, 2019 8:34 am at 8:34 am #1698202Not commentingParticipantAt coffee addict I deal a lot with Kiruv ussualy these quazee non religious people are not looking for answers especially when they attack the existence of Hashem they have all the “answers” and excuses to the way they’re living and the reason they attack is because once they can disprove the existence of Hashem (or at least try) they can continue living with out that chip on their shoulders. Just saying….
March 19, 2019 9:28 am at 9:28 am #1698216Avi KParticipantWhitecar, you can answer him with a utilitarian argument. Commerce depends on trust.
Heargod, it is not correct that capitalism “skewers ones (sic – you forgot the apostrophe) value system into thinking the goal in life is money”. On the contrary, it enables people to rise out of poverty so that they have time to think about spiritual and intellectual matters. Socialism, on the other hand, empowers jealousy.
March 19, 2019 9:29 am at 9:29 am #1698295Uncle BenParticipantNot Commenting; quasi is spelled this way, but pronounced the way you spelled it.

“He asked me “do we know for sure that there is an afterlife?”
I answered “if there wasn’t what is the point of life“”So what is the point of the Afterlife ?
March 19, 2019 10:29 am at 10:29 am #1698386Not commentingParticipantThank you uncle Ben that was really Necessary
March 19, 2019 12:10 pm at 12:10 pm #1698492whitecarParticipant@avi k yes that is a a correct answer for the long run but wouldnt help him. I guess in america the only thing stopping people from being an animal (at least in some sense) is the goverment
March 19, 2019 2:27 pm at 2:27 pm #1698523klugeryidParticipantNot sure what the issue is.
He is totally right.
If you don’t believe in hashem ,then might makes right.

As whitecar wroteMarch 19, 2019 6:48 pm at 6:48 pm #1698786👑RebYidd23ParticipantNot Commenting, in English, we usually don’t capitalize adjectives.
March 19, 2019 7:12 pm at 7:12 pm #1698791writerParticipantAny thoughts on my original question of concrete examples/proof/argument of how idol worship is wrong and all those are false gods? What are some examples to battle that belief? They are very strong in their belief of idols and very passionate about worshipping them. Hindus, and all other idol worshipping religions.
March 19, 2019 10:04 pm at 10:04 pm #1698864klugeryidParticipantLet’s start with something simpler
How would you answer someone who says they don’t believe in, let’s say, terminal velocity?
Any quick sharp answers that can convince them?
Of course not. It’s a huge discussion not a short answer
And your question is way harderMarch 19, 2019 10:46 pm at 10:46 pm #16988692scentsParticipantHe won.
Its the torah that teaches us civility.
Society can decide to enforce certain rules it deems important.
Yet the scammer, who usually isnt subject to society’s rules, makes up their own rules and morals to do as they see fit.
