Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas testified Wednesday that a “Disinformation Governance Board” had recently been created. So there you have it the Biden administration is actively trying to limit free speech. The Democrats assent hiding it anymore they have gone full communist. They can’t have twitter shill for them anymore so now they are doing it themselves. Anything to save their unpopular by destructive agenda.

    “Disinformation Governance Board”

Just when you think they’ve reached the boundaries of maximal stupidity, they come with something else.

The Democrats were like that in the period after-Watergate, which reached a climax in the election of 1984. Unless the Republicans do something incredibly stupid, it seems the Democrats are earning a repeat of what happened in 1984 (in the real world, not the novel).

    @lakewhut
your ignorance always makes me laugh.
Please prove that the Democratic Party has gone Communist.
    You can’t
The Democratic Party platform has never called for the abolition of private property, the hallmark of Communism.
There have been plenty of totalitarian regimes that actively tried to limit free speech that are/were not Communist, the Third Riech for example…they actively persecuted Communists,

Check your accuracy before posting falsehoods,
BTW, The Biden Administration is not one and the same as the Democratic Party.

CTL. I just proved to you. Stop being a doctor establishment sheep. The department of homeland security isn’t doing anything to stop the hordes of illegals coming in but he’s concerned about tweets. Now that Twitter isn’t doing what they want to crack down on things that don’t like to hear they are taking the matter into their own hands… Soviet style. This is a ministry of truth.

CTL they haven’t called for it yet because it isn’t politically viable now but they are doing everything they can to get there. Get a clue.

So the Democratic Party is like the nazis, rather than the communists?

The Biden Administration is not one and the same as the Democratic Party.

And it’s only a coincidence that Biden was their candidate?

CTL > The Democratic Party platform has never called for the abolition of private property, the hallmark of Communism.

I don’t want to over-label, and in general this country somehow avoided communism excesses that affected most of Europe 100+ years ago, but I think one can agree that D-s often suggest solutions that partially negate private property. In purist terms, any expropriation of private property that is not justified and unavoidable is a step towards abolition of private property. As D-s often look at taxation and re-distribution as a solution. Latest exhibit – wholesale student debt forgiveness directed mostly to their own voters.

    #2080889

on a lighter note – maybe we are better off when D-s take private property. Last time D-s defended their private property, US ended with a civil war.

Democrats didn’t go full 1984, they went full 1939

Myorkas mentioned there is now part of homeland security a ministry of disinformation

    Goebbels ימ״ש would be proud

And he even said it on Yom hashoah

Does many Democrat politicians demonizing capitalism coun?
When Lori Lightfoot was asked about the shoplifting that has become rampant in downtown Chicago (thereby causing the Magnificent Mile to become dubbed “the Mile of Fear”, as I read recently), her response implied that the end of capitalism is a good thing.

Stealing under $1000 in many states is not considered a felony. Does this legal reappropriating of goods count? In my opinion, if nothing else, it’s at least a step towards communism…

Only republicans can object to a board that was setup in order to focus on misinformation aimed at migrants. Misinformation is a problem that has helped to fuel sudden surges at the U.S. southern border in recent years.

Only republicans can object to a board that was setup in order to also focus on monitoring and preparing for Russian disinformation threats as this year’s midterm elections near and the Kremlin continues an aggressive disinformation campaign around the war in Ukraine.

Only republicans, whose sole focus is ensuring that the second amendment allows them the rights to purchase and openly carry AR-15’s , can think that the first amendment is under attack and America is becoming communist .

AAQ: As Elon Musk suggested in a slightly different context, New York should use eminent domain to expropriate Trump Tower (at “fair” market value of course after discounting for his non-payment of taxes) and convert it into a homeless shelter. Economists believe in dedicating asset to the highest and most efficient use. Conversely, DeSantis should consider doing the same to the Doral in South Florida. Trump could always claim a tax deduction for his “contribution” to the public welfare.

Republicans constantly scream that everything the democrats do is socialism bordering on communism. It’s an old tactic.
It is meaningless. It just gets the troops riled up.
If we needed to open public libraries and fire station’s in the year 2022, the republicans would call it communism.

FYI , Republicans in Florida have actively engaged in communism by retaliating against the Disney Company’s right to free speech.
The R party that engaged in a coup and insurrection against the US Government , and still supports the main coup leader, is a fascist party.

    Dorah,

Before you suggest expropriating other people’s property “to the highest and most efficient use” perhaps you should put your money where your mouth is and give up your own.

Only democrats can be afraid of someone who’s sole purpose is to champion free speech

    Enough said

Gadol > Economists believe in dedicating asset to the highest and most efficient use.

this is Karl Marx, not Adam Smith. You seem to admit our point.

jackk, if Federal govt were to start opening fire stations in every town, this would be un-American indeed.

Maybe socialism is so much slower to “progress” in US because it is revealed by federalism. Every time you have a “good” policy, it is reasonable to try it in a town or a state first. Then, those who do not like it, can easily move away, and others will learn the lesson. So, when D-s try to force every issue through Federal government and courts, their anti-democratic tendencies are revealed.

A federal firefighter works for a federal agency and provides firefighting services to structural or wildland fires. The Bureau of Land Management, the U.S Fish and Wildlife, the U.S. Forest Service, and branches of the U.S. Military are just some of the agencies that employ federal firefighters.
