Can someone please explain clearly, concisely, and in an unbiased way what has been going on in the US government lately regarding these topics? Also, why is it such a partisan issue, and why is everyone calling the Republicans spineless?

It seems every article or news program on these seemingly intertwined issues seems to pick up in the middle of the story or is written very poorly and convolutedly.

I don’t think Amworks is real.

The Senate Democrats are filibustering the Republican House passed bill to continue funding DHS because it contains a provision reversing the President’s executive actions on allowing illegal aliens to remain in the U.S. against the law.

Thanks for the response. So what can the Republicans do that people are saying they aren’t?

The only “people” saying they aren’t is the partisan Democrats. What the Democrats have been demanding is that the Republicans controlling Congress pass DHS funding without attaching any immigration provisions as part of the bill.

It’s all irrelevant now as the Republicans capitulated a few hours ago and passed DHS funding only bill.
