I was in a dept of social services when my phone suddenly caught on what must have been their WiFi because without having connection it suddenly started beeping and chirping with updates. ….since then I’ve been nervous all day wondering if and why they would offer free WiFi? ??? unless it’s a conspiracy to see what I’ve got cooking in mt personal information and data.
could someone enlightened please tell me if this is a possibility?
Thanks

Generally speaking, anyone who wants to gather information from a public WiFi can do so without too much effort – but chances are you don’t have too much to worry about.
jf02: An IP address is something that is established by a network and not something that is inherent to your computer.
