Ummm I’m guessing you don’t read or listen to news much. In the run up to the invasion Russia was claiming that its troops were mobilizing for some military training exercise. Newspapers (foreign and domestic) were all reporting on the movement of troops to Ukraine and many predicted the invasion. The writing was on the wall. Are you purposely being obtuse or are you really that pooly uninformed.

Can you or anyone else explain why when adding the numbers the day numbers are kept together (28 & 24) but when adding the year you separate the numbers (19+39 instead of 1939, 20+22 instead of 2022)? & why split where you did? Perhaps it should be 1+9+3+9?
When you’re allowed to play fast & loose with numbers you can come up with anything.Given modern technology, no country can launch a surprise attack involving a large army. Satellites in orbit will see everything. That is why the world press reported the Russian invasion at least a day or two before it happened. Similarly, something such as Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor over 80 years would be impossible in 2023.
One thing a country can do is limit the attack in size, to basically a glorified commando raid, and to have bases close enough to the border that the other side won’t see the troop movements. This is what Hamas did in Gaza.
Yes, they spent the entire winter of 2021 telling Ukraine to commit to not joining NATO, or else. Ukraine never committed, and ended up sacrificing 200,000 men, and 20% of its territory.
I was not happy about people in our communities being insensitive to the suffering of others, but now when essentially the same war came to us, and same uav models bomb Ukrainians and Israelis, this attitude borders on insane.

Russia and Ukraine are both bad guys, from both a historical and contemporary perspective.
Ukraine is the worse of the two, especially historically but even contemporarily.
They’re both made for each other. Let their mutual “love” continue.
As to the immediate question at hand, America publicly, strongly and explicitly warned Ukraine for six months before the war that Russia WILL attack them in war. And the idiot Zelenaky kept publicly replying up to the day of the invasion “no way, Russia is just trying to scare us but will keep the peace.”
It is probably very disruptive to the ujm household when his russian wife disagrees with his ukrainian one. Overall, it seems that after Oct 7, number of yidden willing to say that who cares about some wars hundreds of km from us …. If Russia wins in Ukraine, then their next targets for conquest are:

SR: How do you define “win”? Does Russia win and Ukraine lose if at the end of this war Russia controls more Ukrainian territory than it did in 2021? Than in 2013? Is the only definition of Russia losing if it loses every inch of Ukrainian territory it is occupying?
Also, it is rather highly unlikely Russia will go after any country that’s part of NATO. Even if it wins in Ukraine.
