I have a clean cholent pot that remained in my possesion over pesach. could someone help me out with the subsequent steps necessary, or at least point me in the general direction of the mikoros? and quickly please, cholent needs to be made by 1 🙂

May 4, 2012 4:41 am at 4:41 am #872380pcozMemberthere’s no issur of baal yeroeah and baal yimatze on blios so nothing needs doing
May 4, 2012 5:17 am at 5:17 am #872381RABBAIMParticipantMechira of bliah is only a chumrah. It should be batul by itself jsut like crumbs. Enjoy the cholent!
May 4, 2012 5:26 am at 5:26 am #872382takahmamashParticipantI thought the halacha was that the pot has to be destroyed using a shinuy, like rolling over it with a steamroller. I guess I better go back and check that again!
May 4, 2012 5:33 am at 5:33 am #872383NechomahParticipantIt’s a good thing you didn’t sell the pot to the goy because otherwise you’d have to toivel it again since it would no longer be a “Jewish kli”. Since all you’re really supposed to be selling to the goy is the chometz that’s on the keilim and you say that your pot is clean, then there’s no problem with it.
I sure hope I’m not wasting my time on a troll post.

May 4, 2012 7:08 am at 7:08 am #872385haifagirlParticipantHow did you not sell one item?
May 4, 2012 12:25 pm at 12:25 pm #872386akupermaParticipantNo one sells the dishes on Pesach. You sell the hametz that might be on the dish, and store the dishes in an area that is rented to a goy. However the prohibition is on the hametz that is on the dishes, in case there is any.
May 4, 2012 2:29 pm at 2:29 pm #872387apushatayidParticipantDont eat the dish.
May 4, 2012 2:31 pm at 2:31 pm #872388apushatayidParticipantIt’s a good thing you didnt sell the dish to the goy, if you did, you would have to toivel it before using it.
May 4, 2012 3:09 pm at 3:09 pm #872389BobchkaParticipantAnd for all those that sell/rent their apt/house to the goy so as to not make a bedika, you might have to rehang the Mezuzos 🙂
May 4, 2012 8:03 pm at 8:03 pm #872390YoiskeParticipantthanks for your answers everybody!much appreciated! i actually got through to a rov pretty much after i posted
