Does anyone know of a place in brooklyn that sells dietetic sufganiyot? meaning: sugar free whole wheat or baked as opposed to fried? asking for a diabetic. Thank you

Yes I know of a place!!!! It is called not having any and just abstaining from the donuts. You are like the guy who orders 5 cheese burgers and fries but a large diet coke for you to justify it for yourself. Lets not fool ourselves here and think just because its a whole wheat fried donut stuffed with jelly and sugars galore that its ok to eat.

I am sorry “useyourbarin” for setting you off. You woke up on the wrong side of the bed? My uncle is a 83 year old diabetic. I will make sure to pass along your message. As far as the other response goes, “rolls” are what we call your flabby skin when you sit down. If you do not like my post go back to the kitchen and eat a box of yodels.

I removed my post. I did not think it was offensive, but in the context of the other posts here, I can see how you took it that way.

random1 – I know that you asked for a place in Brooklyn, but I think that in Lakewood Classy Cakes on Clifton sells sugar free whole wheat donuts.

Random1- I actually have a great recipe for whole wheat doughnuts I make at home every night of chanuka and they are so delicious! You are more than welcome to come over (wink, wink) and come for a taste test. Also use ‘Ungers” jelly for your donuts.

random1 – they might ship to you – 732-886-1112. They make a lot of different cakes, cookies, etc. that are sugar free whole wheat.

Sugar free does not necessarily mean carb-free. I don’t think the little sugar will make much of a difference, it’s a dough after all, and dough=carbs…

that’s an oxymoron. just eat the donut or don’t.

OP, Strauss on 13th Avenue and 52nd in Borough Park has some good quality sugar-free stuff. (Sorbitol is the sweetener.) Perhaps you should give them a call.

I hope your uncle is able to enjoy this Chanukah and many more in good health.
