My administrative name on my computer is “Disciplined User”.
So each time I sign in,I am reminded:
CHECK YOUR E-MAIL,CLOSE THE COMPUTER!
Today,I was 100% looking forward to packing it away…and I find out about a certain(significant) financial assistance which involves e-mailing back and forth for the next few days.
And before,it was the film…
Does that mean I have proven myself disciplined enough to be on only when I need to…because Hashem seems be to “shmini atzeres”ing my computer!!
March 10, 2011 2:05 am at 2:05 am #748437ZeesKiteParticipantI’m sure you know what this sign means.
Horay!!! Horay!!!
We got her back!!!
March 10, 2011 2:09 am at 2:09 am #748438eclipseMemberZ…it’s “gans leibidig”,right?
March 10, 2011 2:17 am at 2:17 am #748439eclipseMemberI want to CONTINUE TAKING THE HIGH ROAD,I really do.
Hi there folks,I figured by now you missed hearing my ongoing autobiography,so here goes.
I am thrilled that Mr.X is finally engaged.Truly.(L’chaim tonight)
But the seemingly-small side issues are the real tests.
Any advice from those who’ve been there?
What to be prepared for,how to be gracious and dignified no matter what? I can see that it’s complex.
March 10, 2011 2:27 am at 2:27 am #748440ZeesKiteParticipantI’d say the best way is following OPs direction!! “Disciplined User”
March 10, 2011 2:31 am at 2:31 am #748441eclipseMemberHuh?
March 10, 2011 2:36 am at 2:36 am #748442commonsenseParticipantEclipse the coffee room is a much better place with you so please consider us and decide to make your return a more permanent one.
March 10, 2011 2:52 am at 2:52 am #748443aries2756ParticipantEclipse, on the high rode, the sun is so much warmer and brighter, the flowers smell so much nicer, and the grass is so much greener. It is a much nicer place to visit and an even much better place to stay.
March 10, 2011 2:52 am at 2:52 am #748444ZeesKiteParticipantWhat I’m saying is – You need advice from us?? You do seem to be ‘Disciplined User’, how I wish to be that!
March 10, 2011 3:05 am at 3:05 am #748445🍫Syag LchochmaParticipanteclipse – I know I see the internet/cr through different eyes than most here but I do think you will understand what I mean when I say that I have found that Hashem continues to present me with the same nisayon over and over until I chose correctly. Then it disappears. If I struggle and choose wrong, it pops up again. I agree that your presence is valuable, but I would rather you did what is best for yourself, not me.
signed: still struggling 😉
March 10, 2011 3:06 am at 3:06 am #748446eclipseMemberOhhhh!
March 10, 2011 3:16 am at 3:16 am #748447ZeesKiteParticipantSyag Lchochma:
YOU GOT IT ALL WRONG! Her Nisayon is the urge to pack away her computer. And forget about all of us. (Wah!) No more Chizuk. No more Simcha. No more .. C”V.
March 10, 2011 3:22 am at 3:22 am #748448eclipseMemberThat “Ohhhhh!”was to Z.

March 10, 2011 5:13 am at 5:13 am #748455observanteenMembereclipse: Glad to have you back!!! To answer ur question, my very close relative divorced and his X got engaged before him. It was really really very tough. I know I’m still a teen, and I feel kinda foolish writing abt this, but I know of several such cases where the guilty party got engaged first. It really doesn’t prove anything. (I’m not too familiar with ur story, but I’m just saying that YOU shouldn’t feel bad). Also,it’s bashert for you to suffer a certain measure of pain so you can accumulate enough zechusim for your yeshua. Let’s hope that this will fill your measure and bring YOUR bashert closer. GOOD LUCK and please let us know if there’s some good news!!! May Hashem give you many many brachos!!!!
March 10, 2011 12:03 pm at 12:03 pm #748456eclipseMemberobservanteen,thank you.
I am NOT looking for that for myself, although I’ve been told that some “never again”ers change their minds over time. But there’s an interesting twist in my case which I can’t really reveal online. Those who know have fallen off their chairs…
It’s a twist that seems highly appropriate, but makes it tricky at the same time.I wish I could say more but it’s not worth it.
Anyway Observanteen, you sound more mature than a “teen”!
March 10, 2011 2:51 pm at 2:51 pm #748457HaLeiViParticipantZero experience. If the issue is jealous of his success or contempt of his ability to get on and get a normal life, then there is one thing I can say. Don’t follow his progress. There is a natural tendency to make one’s self jealous. You’d be a lot happier by not looking.
This might be off target, but there it is just in case.
March 10, 2011 3:07 pm at 3:07 pm #748458Shticky GuyParticipantGOOD LUCK and please let us know if there’s some good news!!! May Hashem give you many many brachos!!!!

“…because Hashem seems be to “shmini atzeres”ing my computer…”
PS Eclipse I just loved that line!!!
March 10, 2011 3:41 pm at 3:41 pm #748459The BuzzMemberI think the Mishpacha had a whole issue aboutthis, I think last summer. See if you could get a back copy, you may find some good advice
March 11, 2011 12:00 am at 12:00 am #748460eclipseMemberThe Buzz:The magazines usually oversimplify,no?
Anyway,I’m wondering who actually came Sun.or Mon. and didn’t introduce themselves!
Did you all stay home or you were there but don’t want me to know?
C’mon,”the suspense is killin’ me”!
March 11, 2011 12:21 am at 12:21 am #748461bbubbeeParticipantMay Hakadosh Boruch Hu give you the Koach to withstand this Nisayon. I call tell you first hand that it hurts – somewhere deep down – when your X gets engaged. ( It does not matter whose fault it was ) because we are all human we feel hurt. My Tefilos are for you to learn to deal with the “New” Mrs. Bkavod ( as you have the example from your mother A”H) & for the kids that they should have Menuchas Hanefesh, & finally be able to settle with you!
March 11, 2011 12:49 am at 12:49 am #748462observanteenMemberEclipse: I know precisely what you mean by the “side stuff”. Boy, it’s so very hard. Even if you don’t ever want to do it again (never say never!), it still is very hard. I cannot really give you proper chizuk, cuz I never whent through what u did (I haven’t even done it once – yet…;)). In any event, you shouldn’t be thinking somethings not right with YOU. You’re a wonderful person with quality few people posses. May Hashem give you Gezunt Parnassa and Nachas in zchus of your suffering! (I’m sure you can use THAT…)
